Community Involvement

elf night 3 best one crop In our world, where we live, work and play, Pii endeavors to contribute to global health. We do so by helping our clients advance their life-saving and life-changing drug candidates; by providing financial support to pharmaceutical education and nonprofit organizations and by supporting our employees’ contribution of time and expertise in the community. We are passionate about helping our clients realize their development goals and turning their ideas into safe products that contribute to global health. Beyond that, Pii recognizes the importance of philanthropic involvement and the value of creating a culture of community through employee volunteerism and corporate giving.

Employee Giving

Pii strives to make a positive and lasting difference in people’s lives by providing a challenging and rewarding work environment; creating opportunities for volunteerism; and by providing financial support to local, national and global nonprofit and philanthropic agencies. Giving back is an integral part of Pii’s culture, and our employees’ generosity mirrors that of our company. Pii employees contributed both time and money to the company’s giving campaign, the Race for the Cure, the Red Cross and the Salvation Army.

Pharmacy Education

Pii works to inspire and engage students interested in pharmaceutical technology, support science educators and to help prepare the next generation of innovators. We sponsor and participate in programs that encourage young people to become proficient in science and pursue careers in science and pharmacy. For example, Pii sponsors the University of Mississippi’s Distinguished Research and Creative Achievement Award, which is given annually to a faculty member who has achieved national and/or international recognition in his or her field. Additionally, Pii recently made a substantial grant to the University of Mississippi (UM) School of Pharmacy to support pharmaceutical education for graduate students as well as the establishment of a Center devoted to research related to hot melt extrusion and other pharmaceutical processing technologies. The Center, named the Pii Center for Pharmaceutical Technology, will collaborate with private industry, government agencies and other universities to conduct research aimed at developing novel, cost-effective, patient-friendly and efficacious formulations for delivering new and existing pharmaceutical products.
