Vijai Kumar, Vice President of Technical Operations and Research & Development at PII.  He is also the General Manager of the Beaver Court facility.

With over 30 years of pharmaceutical manufacturing and development experience, Vijai brings vast knowledge of science, technology and business on an international scale. He has extensive knowledge in development management, technology transfer and manufacture of solid dosage, liquids, topicals and small volume parenterals. This expertise is augmented by in-depth understanding of equipment design including fluid bed technology, principles of pharmaceutical technology, material flow science, product scale-up and technology for formulation development which is cost-effective and delivers rapid pharmaceutical scale-up and technology transfer. Furthermore he has solid understanding of cGMP, Regulatory and QA compliance.

Prior to joining PII, Vijai held key R&D and management positions with major pharmaceutical companies, including Ranbaxy, Organon, Barr Laboratories and Warner Lambert. In addition, Vijai served as President & Chief Operating Officer of Pharmalogix, Inc. a R&D technology development organization and Chief Operating Officer of Halsey Drug company. Vijai’s educational background include B.S. in Chemistry from University of Lucknow in India, D. Pharm, College of Pharmacy, New Delhi, India, M.S. Industrial Pharmacy from Long Island University and M.B.A. (Pharm) with specialization in International Operations and Pharmaceutical Marketing from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Vijai has 9 patents, has published numerous scientific manuscripts, made scientific presentations and held executive positions in Pharmaceutical associations, such as the AAPS and AAiPS.
